Project Eden’s Garden, or just PJEG, was a popular fangame that was active since 2021 and continued for 5 whole years before its official cancellation earlier in the year. The game was inspired by the popular game “Danganronpa” yet still managed to keep its own originality with unique characters, original voice acting, and even a whole new setting of the game itself. The whole point remains the same though: you’re trapped within a killing-spree, and if you want to leave, you must kill one of your fellow classmates and get away with it in a class trial in order to leave. It’s very similar to the plot of Danganronpa but, again, manages to keep its own originality. Even its characters are very unique, with Tozu, a human headmaster instead of a robotic bear, Mara, a first ever enforcer to the game rather than machines, and the protagonist, Damon Maitsu, the Ultimate Debater. Each character has their own talent and personality that makes them stand out from the rest and even the official characters to the game. It’s even said to be even better quality than the original game. 

Unfortunately, the game developers were hiding a very dark secret, one that ruined the game the moment the secret was released. Revealed by Aji, the former voice actor for a character called Toshiko Kayura, through video posted across several social media platforms like TikTok, Youtube, and X, revealing the hidden truth, it came out that former voice actor for Mark Berskii, named Faza, was an actual predator and harassed multiple minors. The 2 main game developers, the only known one being named Soazzy, actually knew of Faza’s actions, yet preferred to keep them hidden rather than explain to the public. 

This hit the game’s reputation by a large margin, even within the whole team itself. People who didn’t know of Faza’s actions were enraged that some developers rather hide it then express concern, even several voice actors of other characters, programmers,and artists left the project entirely, prefering to quit the game than work with someone they thought was a predator. Needless to say, Faza has been permanently banned from the project, Soazzy and the other developers were also removed, and the game was left with a deep crater in its works.

Quotes from former VA’s include Aji, who said “I am disgusted, revolted, and deeply upset at the actions that were taken to hide something so bad, just for a game.” Even other VA’s voiced their concerns, like Rynako, Voice of Desmond Hall, who said “I really can’t believe they hid something like this from the public, and I refuse to be apart of it any longer,” and Dazon, voice actor to Wolfgang Akire, who said, “This game brought me so much joy and helped me meet so many amazing people, yet to see what it comes to now is gross and horrible. For now, I will be stepping down from voicing Wolfgang from this project. Thank you for being everyone’s favorite Lawyer.” The game went quiet for some time, until April 25th 2026, when the official account on X posted about the official cancellation of the project. Now, the doors have closed on a project that ran for 5 years, had some amazing work and love put into it, and was forever scarred because people decided the game was more important than children’ s safety.
