The FBI have caught a suspect after 4 years, and we still don’t know who did it.
Last week, the FBI had made an important arrest in relations to 2 pipe bombs that were planted outside the Democratic National Committee and Republican National Committee headquarters; a pipe bomb is improvised explosive device. People would take pipe and fill it with explosive material after they fill it they would seal the pipe off by closing the pipe together or by using caps. In almost all countries, pipe bombs are illegal: if you get caught with a pipe bomb, it’s a serious crime, and you can face jail time.
The footage the FBI released was of an unidentified person placing the pipe bombs near the headquarters; more than 16 hours after the law enforcement found them, the unidentified person was wearing a grey hoodie, Nike air turf sneakers, a mask, glasses and gloves. As the investigation was ongoing, many people started making theories about how Trump’s or Biden’s followers were up to it, and the public was going crazy about it. “You’re not going to walk into our capital city and put down 2 explosive devices and walk off in the sunset. Not going to happen,’’ said Bongino, an American conservative political commentator.
This unidentified person was allegedly named Brian Cole Jr., a 30-year old from Woodbridge, Virginia- only a couple hours away from Washington, DC. The FBI had been looking for any suspect who put the pipe bombs near the Democratic National Committee and Republican National Committee headquarters hours before a mob of Trump supporters raided the Capitol on Jan 6, 2021. The way the FBI was able to find Cole was from his bank records. The department of justice said Cole spent hours talking to the FBI on Thursday; According to the FBI, Cole lives with his mom and other family members in Woodbridge, works as a bail bondsman, and graduated class of 2013 from Prince William County High School. Allegedly, Cole did it because the election just didn’t sit with him, saying the election was stolen and that Trump should’ve won. After his court hearing on Thursday, it’s said that he’ll be facing 20 years maximum, being charged with transportation of an explosive device.
