Gabriela Gonzalez is a 24-year old female from California. She has half-a-million followers on TikTok and has a 7-year old daughter. Her daughter’s name is Lavender, and her daughter’s dad is her ex-boyfriend, Jack Avery. Jack is a singer who sings pop, R&B, and is a solo artist. He releases music on digital platforms and has social media accounts that many people follow.
In 2020, Gabriela decided to plan to kill her ex-boyfriend by hiring a hitman to kill him. Her dad and other ex-boyfriend, Kai Cordrey, were in on the plan, as well. Her father’s name is Francisco Gonzalez, and he was going to pay the hitman $10,000 and an additional $4,000 for hitman fees. They wanted Jack to be dead within the matter of days. In 2021, Kai made a mistake by sharing the hitman and target details and showing proof of the information with an undercover police officer disguised as the hitman.
Gabriela Gonzalez was arrested on Friday, May 15th, 2026, in Hambodt County, California. She was transferred and booked in Los Angeles county jail on Monday, May 18th, 2026. Francisco Gonzalez was arrested on the same day, May 18th, 2026, in Seminole County, Florida. Kai Cordrey was arrested a few days later, on May 21st, 2026. Gabriela remained in custody on a $2-million bail bond. Francisco was arrested on an out-of-state fugitive warrant because he was in Florida. Gabriela could face up to 25-years-to-life in prison if she is convicted. Her trial and sentencing have not been confirmed officially yet, but she has to go back to court in July of 2026. On May 22nd, she was released after posting bond but is under strict GPS monitoring, has surrendered her passport, and is under a protective order.
If this case goes to trial, she is going to be charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and solicitation of murder. The other two guys that were involved could also face up to a maximum sentence of 25-years-to-life in jail, as well. They wanted Jack dead because of the heated custody battle between the two for their daughter, Lavender. Gabriela wanted Jack out of Lavender’s life permanently and did anything to make it happen. Her dad agreed with her and wanted to do anything to help her get full custody of Lavender. After Gabriela got arrested, a Los Angeles judge granted Jack Avery temporary sole legal and physical custody of their daughter. Before he got custody, Lavender was placed with a local foster family by law enforcement. When Jack found out, he flew to San Francisco and drove several hours to pick up his daughter. Gabriela has no visitation rights allowed since the arrest and will not see her daughter until after the trials. If she is convicted, Jack will have permanent sole custody of his daughter.
