On April 25th, famous American rapper Megan Thee Stallion had broken off her relationship with NBA player Klay Thompson. On Instagram, Megan had posted a message about Klay that mentioned him allegedly cheating on her. This led to many fans’ outrage on various social media platforms.
The relationship between Megan and Klay had become official in mid-July of 2025, making multiple Instagram posts, specifically one showing the two kissing on a tropical vacation. Throughout their relationship, they were described as healthy and supportive. Megan had posted various videos with them together, including going fishing, eating together, working out together. Many adored their relationship; one user had commented on Reddit, “She’s going to get treated like she deserves!”
In the Instagram post, Megan had written, “Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house. Holding you down through all your horrible mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’???” She added, “I need a real break after this one bye yall!”
The cheating allegations were further fueled by a rumor about Klay cheating on Megan with Lexie Brown, a WNBA player. This speculation had originated from unsubstantiated online claims regarding Lexie and Klay following one another on social media. However, Lexie had denied this allegation, saying, “She has no involvement.” On the other hand, Klay remained silent regarding these allegations until May 1st, 2026, when he stated, “Please go touch grass.” Many fans were not only stunned by his comment but further enraged.
Many outraged fans of Megan had responded to these cheating allegations by defending her on various platforms of social media, specifically TikTok, Instagram, and X, while sending threats to Klay and Lexie. Additionally, many had created and posted complications of Klay’s worst moments on the basketball court and attempted to curse his knee. Megan’s fans have a unique protectiveness over her because she got shot back in 2020, harassed, and has been a target for misogynoir attacks.
On April 27th, Megan announced that she will be ending her Broadway run as Zidler in Moulin Rouge, located in the AI Hirschfeld Theatre, on May 1st, although it was originally planned for Megan to appear in the musical through May 17th. Back on April 25th, during the Saturday night of Megan’s performance in Moulin Rogue, fans were cheering extra loud. Each screamed, “We love you,” from the crowd; Megan had appeared visibly emotional, before turning away wiping her tears.
