The Grammys is an annual event that every famous artist attends. They attend this event to get awards for their music that they get nominated for. Some prominent artists who attended this year’s show, including Billie Eilish, Justin & Hailey Bieber, Kehlani Finneas, Joni Mitchell. Brandi Carlile, and Olivia Rodrigo, were seen wearing ¨I.C.E Out¨ pins. Artists have made their speeches about their distaste for I.C.E., with Olivia Dean saying in her speech, ¨I just want to say I’m a granddaughter of an immigrant. I wouldn’t be here… I’m a product of bravery, and I think those people deserve to be celebrated, so yeah we’re nothing without each other.” Another artist that talked about I.C.E was Billie Eilish. She said, ¨No one is illegal on stolen land, keep fighting and speaking up and protesting. Our voices really do matter and the people matter.”
Bad Bunny won a Grammy and was also rumored that he was wearing a bullet proof vest to the Grammys. Bad Bunny’s speech, ¨Before I say thanks to God, I gotta say I.C.E. Out, we´re not savage. we´re not animals. We´re not aliens. We are humans and we are Americans.” ¨The hate get more powerful with more hate. The only thing more powerful than hate is love. We need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love. We don’t hate them, we love our people, we love our family, and that’s the way to do it. That’s the way to do it. With love.”
On top of the anti-I.C.E. sentiment, there were some other notable happenings. There was a new record set by Kendrick Lamar after he won his 27th grammys award. He was also the most- nominated artist at the Grammys, with the old record being held by Jay-Z when he won 25 Grammy awards. Additionally, fans posted about Tyler the Creator being shown on camera vibing and dancing the whole time.
Some artists even performed at the Grammys, including Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Sabrina Carpenter, Rose, Billie Eilish, Alex Warren, Tyler the Creator, and many more. During Alex Warren’s performance, he was having mic and earpiece malfunctions, which caused him to be off-beat because he couldn’t hear the music correctly. He later joked about the issue, and many people still praised him for keeping his composure under pressure.
