The first part of Stranger Things season five came out on November 26th, 2025. It consists of four episodes that are named “The Crawl,” “The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler,” “The “Turnbow Trap,” and “Sorcerer.” Volume two will be released on December 25th, 2025, and Volume three will be released on December 31st, 2025. It has been over three years since the last Stranger Things season came out, so people have been waiting for the last and final season to be created.
The Stranger Things cast have done multiple interviews talking about Season five, especially the finale. “If season 4 was big, season 5 definitely feels bigger,” Bower said in a behind-the-scenes video released at the halfway point of production of Season 5 (DEADLINE). There have been theories like certain characters dying or even stating that the show was just one big dream.
Some have different opinions on the new season. On Rotten Tomatoes, 85% gave good reviews. Christopher Campbell called it “a thrilling, immersive, wholly entertaining finale.” Another person named Mike C said, “Flipping amazing? Better than I could have hoped for.” However, the critics have different looks on the new season. As said in Newsweek, “Alison Herman described Stranger Things Season 5 as a nostalgic but increasingly stagnant conclusion to a show that has outgrown its premise without evolving its storytelling. She noted that the series, originally rooted in the innocence of childhood, now struggles to reconcile its grown up cast with a script that has not matured alongside them.” While people love the entertainment of the show, others are more focused on the details of the cast.
New characters have made an appearance or have had more time on-screen then before. Although the screen times aren’t out yet, it is visible to see who is shown a lot more compared to the past seasons. Robin is in every episode of the new season, as well as Holly, who has an episode dedicated for her. The new characters consist of Derek, Lt. Akers, and Linda, who are not in every episode, but do make appearances throughout.
Lastly, something that has been noticed quite a lot by the people watching is the flashbacks from things we didn’t get to see in past seasons. The first episode opens up with Will’s experience in the Upside Down, which gives a new perspective on what actually happened.
Now everyone is waiting for the big finale that has been talked about almost everyday since the first part came out. Will it bring tears or jumps for joy? We will find out soon.
