Global Changes

Global+Changes

Renee Lozier

The planet is warming and human activity is the primary cause and blame for it. Not only is it affecting the air around us, but it is destroying so much more. Evidence of the climates change include heat waves, sea-level rise, flooding, melting glaciers, earlier spring arrival, diseases, and coral reefs dying. More than 90% of excess heat is being trapped and being absorbed into the ocean that covers over more than two thirds of the planets surface. It is a really fast change that needs to be stopped before it’s too late.

Scientists say that the accumulation of heat in the ocean is one of the strongest pieces of evidence to show how fast earth’s climate is changing. A speculation in which carbon dioxide is being more and more powerful. These consequences are rising faster than ever and if nothing is done, our earth as we know it might come to an end.

The outcome of these effects and aftermath of this is causing a domino effect of issues. Polar regions are having the most significant change which amplifies all the other causes of global warming. One example is that this is causing the ice to melt and within the frozen sheets of ice, frozen animals are starting to thaw and spread diseases that haven’t been in circulation in years.

These higher temperatures are causing marine life towards non-habitable living. Coral bleaching is one of the most known occurrences from this rise in temperature. Coral bleaching is a phenomenon that makes the coral react in such a way to get humans attention, they turn bright white or even neon colors in order to protect themselves from the harsh light and heat.

Although we don’t see these changes  happening overnight, they are happening more gradually and faster than predicted. Without these problems being taken care of, we are destined to fail; we are killing our planet right beneath our fingertips. We can’t just push this aside and we need to do something before it’s too late.
