Manville High School hosts one of the important days for seniors this year, celebrating senior signing day on May 31st, 2024. This event was held in the school’s library, honoring students who are committed to colleges for their athletic and academic futures. The day was filled with pride and a sense of accomplishment.
The event featured seniors with a mix of their high school jerseys and their new college jerseys that symbolizes the transition from their high school careers to their future career path. The students’ families, coaches, and school administrators gathered and celebrated, filling the atmosphere with encouragement and excitement.
Several students listed are athletes that were recognized for their achievements: Lucas Velando signing with Muhlenberg College, Valentina Barrios Quintero heading to Rutgers University, JK Kesolitz committing to RVCC (Raritan Valley Community College), as Angie Petti and Tima Morales stay sticking with each other, both joining Ramapo College.
As these seniors pave the way for their college journeys, they carry along the lessons learned and support from the Manville community. They credited their teachers and coaches for helping them excel both in academic and athletics.
Through an interview to view some of the seniors’ personal insights, Valentina Barrios Quintero and Lucas Velando claimed that, to reach this point, they went through hard word and had dedication. Both spoke about how the support system helped them, along with an expressed gratitude.
Many students are attending what college they hoped to get for. For example, JK Kesolitzs expressed a strong statement to make the most of the opportunities at RV and see what happens from there.
