Manville High School announced senior Kasey Campos Murillo as March’s Student of the Month!
Campos states, “It honestly feels great to be recognized for such an honor.” Kasey went on to talk about her uncles, who are both a couple years older than her, and that, during their time here at MHS, one achieved being the student of the month while the other was an athlete of the month. She hoped she would also achieve getting this award and continue the tradition for her family.
Kasey has been a class officer for all four years, and most of her favorite memories have come from being in that role. She will never forget Caldwell screaming and cheering during class competitions, as well as taking AP Spanish Literature with her friends and uncle her junior year, where they nicknamed the class AP Chisme! In addition to her favorite memories, Kasey has always enjoyed her English class; to her, writing is a passion that she loves to pursue through writing short stories and even essays. She’s always been fascinated by the ability to express herself that way, especially when she excels in her penmanship.
If you are ever looking for Kasey, there’s only a couple places you should look, starting with Manville High School. Kasey spends a lot of time here at MHS, as she is Co-President of the Class of 2024 and is a member of the Spanish Honor Society, Tri-M Honor Society, International Club, and Band, as she has played the flute with the Wind Ensemble section for more than 9 years. Outside of school you can find Kasey at one of her three jobs: at the mall working at American Eagle, being a manager at Franchessas, and, in the summer, being a lifeguard at the Borough of Manville pools.
Kasey plans on attending Penn State University to study criminology and further her education at law school. Kasey would like to reach a career into the criminal justices field as either a detective or a criminal psychologist.
Congratulations Kasey!
