Kincade Fire started October 23th and has been ablaze until November 1st. The fire followed though John Kincade Road and Burned Mountain Road, they both are in the Sonoma country which is in Northern California. The cause to this great fire has not been pinpointed, but it is under investigation.

The administrative unit that is maintaining the fire under control is the CAL FIRE Sonoma- Lake- Napa. Over 5,000 people, which equals to 105 crews, are continuously working on the fire. Approximately 357 structures have been engulfed by the fire; 55 are damaged. It has been confirmed that 4 people were injured, a mix between fire personnel and civilians. The fire has affected 77,758 acres of land but currently about 68% of the fire is under control.

Certain zones of 1, 3, and 5 have been opened to allow people to return to their homes. 180,000 people evacuated from their households and on the 28th of October, evacuation warnings have been lifted from zones 21, 31, 32, 33, and 34, although specific zones stay under mandatory evacuation orders.

Kim Tyner and Robert Ringrose were one of the many to be woken abruptly to the sounds of their phones advising them to immediately leave their house. Tyner states that the Kincade fire is a different experience to the one she faced two years ago, the Tubbs Fire. “It was less stressful because we knew: 10 a.m. Saturday morning, out by 4 p.m. in the afternoon. And that was well ahead of the fire,” while the Kincade fire gave residents no time to prepare and leave in a calm fashion. Ringrose also commented “People were nice. You could only go 30 to 40 miles an hour. But they were all cool. So, it was good, way different than the (Tubbs Fire),” but the Tubbs fire was further away from than the Kincade Fire.

The people who have left their house in a hurry are now in a calmer state because the fire has been contained; there is a lot of structures damaged but the best news is that no one died. The children involved were also rushed in a hurry but at the firesight they were able to be kids again. They were away from home but at least they were able to have Halloween and not the fire.
