Winter is coming up and temperatures are dropping! There was a huge temperature drop within 24 hours. The temperature drop was around 30-40 degrees. This is spiking all around the states. Yet, winter is seemingly off to a slow start. Paul Pastelok, a forecaster for AccuWeather explains, “I think its full force will hold out until after the new year.” Many believe this as we’ve seen the data on it. It shows how much can change, and how fast, in a day. It’s looking like there will be above normal snowfall this upcoming winter for New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. This is believed to be true regarding Accuweather’s early outlook. 

Next, even though winter is coming up, there are still some hot days, such as on October 2, 2019, where it had broken a record for the warmest day in October. This was impressive since we have seen very cold weather lately and nothing has shown us any signs of us getting our sunny temperatures back. 

Although this an unforeseen sight of winter starting late, this would be good for crops and land owners. This delay could let crops grow longer than its normal season. It’s a huge benefit and could increase the amount of crops grown for the season. The delay is a positive for many because some enjoy the heat. So go outside while you have a chance and enjoy the warm weather before it’s gone!
