FROM 2/20/26
The Super Bowl was held in California on February 8th, 2026. The New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks went against each other, resulting in the Seahawks winning 29-13.
As the Seahawks took an early lead, they were more expected to win from the fans. Around 70,000 people were in the stands supporting their teams. Focusing more on the teams themselves, both quarterbacks had a lot of pressure on them, especially Drake Maye, who plays on the Patriots, as it’s his first year. According to an NFL.com article, “Maye panicked at times, which led to wayward passes that were completely off the mark.” The pressure got to him, resulting in the loss.
Although the Halftime Show, performed by Bad Bunny, was up for debate for some people, a lot of people enjoyed it. It was full of energy, and it was great overall. According to Teresa Spencer, “America didn’t just watch football on Super Bowl Sunday. It watched a cultural verdict play out in real time, and the score wasn’t close. On the biggest stage in American entertainment, Bad Bunny delivered a halftime show that was joyful, unapologetically Latin and quietly radical in its message: unity still matters, love still wins, and America is bigger than the boxes it keeps trying to squeeze itself into.” It had a lot of detail throughout the show with the sets, and the people included overall.
The game came to a close, and people’s opinions were spreading. One New York Times opinion article says, “Michelle, you cannot feel remotely sorry for the Patriots. They won six Super Bowls and then spent only about nine seconds wandering in the football wilderness before they got back to the big game.” Lots of shade was thrown at them by disappointed Patriots fans.
The game is still being talked about, as it was only a couple days ago. The score was unexpected, but both teams deserved it, even though only one team could win. This game was one to remember for Seahawks fans.
