Three inches of rain this last Monday leaves San Diego a city surrounded by water flooded. This was from one of three Pacific storms that hit the United States. The city of San Diego, California, also borders the Pacific Ocean, leading to mass flooding in the state and to pursue a state of emergency. They are calling this a historic storm for the damage done to homes and local businesses. Is a flood like this one of many more to come to the city, and how will they handle it better next time?
The thousand-year-storm recently left the states with people stating on news channels, “It was never that bad.” The mayor of San Diego is getting press over the lack of flash flood maintenance from the people. Saying that this should have been controlled and wasn’t dealt with properly because this storm was something they weren’t ready for. Homeless people were affected more by the properties of the storm, being trapped outside with nowhere to go, and people had to evacuate the city and look for shelter outside, coming home to broken down homes. San Diego will now deal with the damage and try to fix the damages from the storm. The tax payers might be seeing some of this reflected on there taxes this year.
