would think it’s because we are good for nothing, but, in fact, our own

Honduras became the second country to declare a state of emergency because of gang violence.
Way too many young kids are being put in gangs in order to get protection for their families and
businesses. Now, like every friend group, people have each others backs, but, when they hear a
rumor, the gangs don’t think twice about killing people they just go for it. Even if it’s a lie, they
don’t care; they want to show who’s the boss. Over the years the death toll has doubled
tremendously. People are scared to leave their houses, thinking they’ll be shot at random.
Families all throughout Honduras have been killed by gangs for standing against them.
Instead of the government and Police being in control, it is just the Gangs in control in every city,
town, and house. You could go and visit, but you are always taking a risk each time you go out to
the streets because you don’t know if you are going to get robbed or even killed. There are beautiful

places in Honduras, but there are so many terrible places there, too. People
may think just because they are poor they have no other way to live. This is how people join gangs;
because the Government doesn’t want to make more jobs available or make the pay rate higher.
