According to Mr. Aldo Russo, Weston’s Principal, Weston’s new preschool program is thriving with its full days, new playground, and new assessment tool, Teaching Strategies Gold. With classrooms almost reaching their capacity, the atmosphere is extremely positive. Along with free lunches and breakfasts for students and teachers, these extensions have been very beneficial.

Preschool is a great opportunity for kids 3-5 years old to get ready for the transition into Kindergarten. Kids learn about independence, school rules, and how to socialize with other students their age. A brand new playground including a seesaw, slides, and a cave will give kids a chance to explore and have fun outside. Another beneficial component is the new assessment tool, Teaching Strategies Gold. Mr. Aldo Russo states, “Our teachers began using Teaching Strategies Gold which is an assessment tool that helps us individualize instruction for each student.” With Teaching Strategies Gold, teachers have a better chance at giving each student individual attention and instructions. With an overall better preschool experience, Kindergarten teachers will have a better understanding of where these students left off creating a better Kindergarten experience.
