Mr. McMahon has been a patient and open minded teacher at Manville High School for twenty-two years, he teaches English 12 and AP English for seniors. He also teaches film studies and public speaking. He got his teaching certificate from Kean and got his bachelors at Montclair State University. He has a twenty-one year old son and was influenced to become a teacher by his brother who was a teacher and always enjoyed teaching in general. He was interested in social studies during high school while he was serving ice cream or helping out with a 1980’s hair band. Unsatisfied with the jobs he was working, he desired something different on a daily basis; he loved to read and enjoyed teaching others. Even though Mr. McMahon was a quiet kid in high school and worked with the newspapers club, he wants his students to reach out and grab all the opportunities Manville School has to offer. After twenty-two years at MHS he has grown to work well with other teachers and has overall been an amazing teacher.

Personal experience with Mr. McMahon: I have had the pleasure to be taught by Mr. McMahon for two years of my high school career. He is patient and empathetic towards his students, his class is always something to look forward to. His experience at Manville High School shines as he stands in front of the class teaching us new ways to understand Language Arts. He works hard to make sure every student works with their full capabilities and always looks comfortable while working with his students. His understanding of the class that he teaches is boundless and students always take away something new each and every day. I have no doubt in my mind that as I leave Manville High School other students get to have the pleasure of being taught and become an overall better person by the one and only Mr. McMahon. Thank you for everything.
