To ring in the new year, a big congratulations to George Thomson for being elected January’s student of the month! Although George is very involved at MHS, as well as holds a high standard for himself, he communicated that, “I was definitely surprised, I’ve always done well in school but getting student of the month is something that I don’t really think about much,” showing he is humbled by the achievement.

Like mentioned, George is very involved at Manville High School ranging from concert and jazz band, cross country and winter track, debate portion of the Forensics team, as well as a member of Nation Honor Society. Even though he is very involved, he states, “For me its always a balance between academics and extracurriculars. No matter what sport or club I’m doing, I do my best to stay on top of assignments and classes.”
