October’s Athlete of the Month: David Guerrero

20 career goals, played some games as varsity freshman year, and a 3 year varsity winner: Congratulations to David Guerrero for being named October’s Athlete of the Month at Manville High School!
David shares a memorable moment during a soccer game explaining, “I scored the game winning goal in overtime against North Plainfield during the first round of the Somerset County Tournament. We were down 2-0 until we kicked it up and tied it 2-2 until we made it to overtime. During the first two minutes the ball was sent to me to bang it in the top right corner of the goal to win the win the game.”
Senior, David Guerrero’s hard work and dedication payed off rewarding him with October’s Athlete of the Month. “I put hours upon hours of work and my determination to become better in my sport helped me do well and support my other teammates especially by being a role model.”
The hardworking MHS student not only dedicates his time and efforts to his sport, but he is also involved with National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Varsity boys soccer team, and Varsity track and field.
David plans to pursue an electrical engineering degree at Rutgers’s University. However, his Manville Mustang pride will not be forgotten.
“Being a Mustang isn’t just a title, it’s something you should be proud of.”
