January Athlete of the Month: Jason Brennan

Jason Brennan, a 6 foot 2 tall junior basketball player has received the title of being January’s athlete of the month. For the current basketball season, Brennan has tallied 55 points in jumpshots/layups, 45 points in free throws, 135 rebounds, 45 steals to bring him to an impressive 155 points during the 19 games played so far.
Jason is a team player on and off the court. He communicates, “I was surprised to get this award. All I try to do is work hard and try to help my team in any way I can.”
Athlete of the month, Jason Brennan dedicates a lot of his time to basketball in hopes it will lead to improvement. “One of the main goals I have is to get better. Every practice, every game, every play, there is a need to fix mistakes. I make sure to work hard to fix these mistakes so that I can help my teammates in order to win a game.”
In order to win the game, Brennan shares that some of his favorite moments happen off the court like pregame routines, talks with coaches to team huddles: all of which contribute to him and his team feeling ready and even excited to play every game!
Aside from basketball, Brennan is a part of National Honor Society, Student Council, Middle Earth, and the Track and Field team.
Being involved with many aspects at MHS, while also juggling a rigorous course load contributes to his hopes of attending university after he graduates where he strives to get a degree in engineering. He also states that he would love to continue his career in basketball at the college level.
Jason Brennan, athlete of the month for January leave us with this: “I want to thank my teammates for pushing me to get better every day. We make each other better every time we step on the court.”
