This past Monday night football game on December 16, 2019, was held at the Mercedes Benz Superdome, home to the New Orleans Saints. The Saints hosted the Colts. In this great game, there was a new record up for grabs by the veteran Drew Brees for most passing touchdowns in a career. In his way was Peyton Manning with a total of 539 and Tom Brady with a total of 538. At the beginning of the night, Brees was in third with 537. Soon this was all changed.

The Saints played an amazing game against the Colts, improving their record to (11-3) and dropped the Colts to (6-8) after a 34 to 7 win. To top it off, Drew Brees had a near perfect game. He threw no interceptions and completed 29 of his 30 passes thrown. He also never got sacked and threw for 307 yards, averaging 10 yards a pass. And of course, he broke the record with an outstanding 4 touchdowns. Now, Drew Brees is in the lead with 541 passing touchdowns in a career. Although he had an amazing performance Monday night, everything might change with Tom Brady still being active and versing the Bills Saturday at 4:30 PM; the record is still in reach. With needing 3 to tie and 4 to break Drew Brees’ record, Brady is in hot pursuit. It might be a short lasting victory for the Saints quarterback.
