Americans this year are turning towards alternatives for Thanksgiving meals; the majority of them have stated that they are tired of turkey and tired of the same side meals. One Poll held a study where they observed Thanksgiving habits and have found that the majority of those polled are worn out of turkey, about 64% have hopped the trend of replacing the traditional turkey and about 30% have already done so. It has also been rumored that Americans are no longer continuing the homemade meal but rather are going out to eat. Overall Americans are trying to break from the regular traditional Thanksgiving.

Burmese Tofu is a vegan substitute for Turkey; this is a trending food that has been circling around Thanksgiving. This substitute is full of protein, consisting of chickpea, flour, oil, and water structured into a tofu dish. It can have various sides that are also vegan, such as vegan gravy, dairy-free mashed potatoes, and meatless stuffing.

Not in the mood for a vegan substitute? Instead of having turkey or the burmese tofu, one could also look into cornish game hens. This meal can be individually sized due to the hens smaller than average size. These hens can be prepared under 20 minutes!

For an alternative side, a great option would be a wild rice and quinoa stuffing. Instead of preparing the same old bread chunks one can change it up. This side consists of various herbs, rice, quinoa, apples, cranberries, and more ingredients that can be added according to taste. It is great in protein and covers many dietary substances depending on what is added.

Bacon ranch deviled eggs are a perfect finger food side dish or appetizer to get the day started. This dish puts a little twist on the original because it involves both ranch and bacon. Different variations of ranch can be used to add different flavors, and the time it takes to prepare this dish is under 15 minutes.

There is a whole other world of Thanksgiving alternatives that have yet to be discovered. This year people can expand their taste buds by simply replacing the usual foods and sides with more protein and nutrient rich meals. By the looks of it, there is going to be drastic changes to Americans’ typical Thanksgiving Day.
