All fall sports are winding down for the 2019-2020 season, and Manville High Schools’ Marching Band and Color Guard is one of them. With the band being comprised of many seniors, the end of the season is bittersweet.

The young and new band members will soon say goodbye to their senior friends. Highlighted for their amazing talent that they have contributed to the band and color guard are, Jake S. on drums, David G. on base, Amber K. on sousaphone, Mari Cruz V. on flute, Michelle S. on flute, Mackenzie B. on clarinet, Afriye T. on saxophone, Kaylee P. spinning flag and rifle, Isabella C. spinning flag and rifle, Alyssa M. spinning flag and rifle, Sara S. spinning flag and rifle, Danna C. spinning flag, and Yiraldo C. spinning flag and rifle. Everyone in the band, color guard, and band staff thanks all seniors for their involvement.

As the season comes to an end, Mr. Espiniera worked with a graphic designer to create an image to exhibit the 2019 show theme, Resistance, that will be worn on shirts and hoodies. Speaking of the show, the Manville High School Marching Band and Color Guard has performed at four competitions across the state of New Jersey, which they have won first place at each, and were undefeated in their class: 1A.

On Saturday, October 19, the band and color guard competed in Toms River North for state championships, in which they placed fourth out of ten bands. They also performed at every home game, including Friday’s homecoming game, giving the audience an amazing visual and musical delight. The Manville High School Marching Bands’ show was incredibly difficult and required a lot of time, demanding physical work, and discipline. All of their hard work resulted in an amazing show for the 2019-2020 season.
