The Miss’d America pageant donates a portion of its proceeds to LGBTQ charities, this year raising about $500,000.

Sapphira Cristal has been doing drag since college years. Sharing a story about an experience, she was in college when her biological father found out that she was a homosexual that participated in drag. Her father did not approve of this lifestyle and stopped helping her pay for college. Throughout all this, Sapphira ended up homeless for about a year, learning patience, friendship, and the confidence to determine that she could be a person to push through anything and come up on top.
