Yet Another Truck Stuck in Manville
September 25, 2019
A third truck in three months has gotten stuck under the bridge on Main Street in Manville, NJ. The truck was carrying 22,000 pounds of water bottles out of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. It was driving north around 8:30 AM when it wedged itself under the bridge by the driver. The driver was charged with failure to see warning sign. The Manville Police Lt. John Carter mentioned that the main street was closed for three hours and it opened back up at 12:30. There was no structural damage and the bridge was good to use right away. As we live in Manville, this seems to happen a lot in our town. People might even say it seems to happen every two months. Last July, there were three trucks that got stuck under the bridge within the span of two weeks. Since this happens to frequently, it really affects people that live in Manville and the surrounding towns because many have to cut through Manville to get home. With the reoccuring trains and the lump sum of trucks getting stuck under the bridge, it makes Manville a very difficult town to get through.
