After a month of March Madness, it has truly lived up to its name, with unpredictable upsets shocking America, to sad endings, to what was hoped for greatness. Teams like Duke were seen to win it all with #1 NBA 2025 Draft Pick Cooper Flagg but fell short by 3 points in the final four round against Houston. Unexpected upsets like the Arkansas St. John game had shown the basketball community why this playoff is called March Madness. But, in the end, there will always be one victor, which was Number 1 seed of the southeast region, The University of Florida, also known as The Gators.
This team showed their Grit and hard effort to win this championship by defeating teams like Auburn and Maryland. This team has truly deserved it winning it all for senior leader Walter Clayton Jr. He had shown the basketball community and NBA how his skills range, from spot up shooting, creating space, passing ability and cutting through the line of defense.
We can look over highlight over highlight on the teamwork and chemistry between the men and how they can react and demonstrate pro skill basketball. Throughout the month, they have proven themselves to have the mentality to be great and showed the effort they put behind the scenes. The team in this NCAA season was seen as one of the best since the beginning. The last game was tight, with each possession having to matter to the score. Whether it was bad or good, they still fought through the tough 3’s, hard dunks, and tight scores.
At the last minute against Houston, the game was either one possession away from winning or tying the game. But Florida didn’t let it happen and was able to make the Texas team lose the ball, ending with a loose ball dive, securing the clock to their way, and winning the whole tournament. We have seen great things so far for the Gators; we hope to see someone who can rise next year to bring an even crazier and more mad game in the tournament.
