The All Shook Up musical production was just released last week and was incredibly phenomenal! With filled audiences and many laughs, the cast had a wonderful time performing their show up until Saturday night.
The Tech Week schedule, or the week of the show, was given out to the cast by the directors and was a very busy week for everyone involved. On Monday, call time (the time the cast must be present at the school) was 4:30 PM, and everyone had to have their hair and makeup done by the time they arrived. This also was the same for Tuesday, and the Dunellen High School was invited to go watch Manville’s production, since Manville went to go see theirs (The Addams Family). On Wednesday, the cast had an in-school rehearsal; therefore, hair and makeup didn’t need to be done. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday were the three days of the show, Saturday being a double-show day. A dinner break was provided in between the 3:00 PM show and the 7:00 PM show.
The Manville Drama Club has its own Instagram page, @manville_drama, where they post updates of what the cast does to get ready before the show. You can find ticket information, who is who in the cast, and more on this page. During Tech Week, there were two leads who were designated to post about their characters each day. This was called “Tech Week Take-Over.”
In last year’s show, Mamma Mia!, judges from the Marquee Awards came to watch the musical. This year, both the Marquee Awards and Rising Star came on Friday night and the Saturday Matinee.
Although the cast became emotional because of all of the leaving seniors, they enjoyed spending their time creating what they believed could be the best show possible for this cast!
