Airbnb, a vacation property rental company, revealed a model of the Deetz residence from the famous Tim Burton movie, BeetleJuice BeetleJuice, which will be located in Hillsborough Township, New Jersey. The house will be a haunted house and part of the Airbnb iconic experiences.
The haunted house will be scheduled to open on November 16 to 17 with a total of ten, three-hour bookings that will be up to six guests each. Before attending the haunted house, you’ll need to sign in the Airbnb app in advance before midnight on Monday, November 4. The age of attending guests are 18 years and older, while guests that are accompanied have to be 13 years or older. Guests who booked Haunt the BeetleJuice house will stay at an Airbnb listing within neighboring Princeton with no extra cost. All guests will be responsible for their travel to Princeton.
The host of the BeetleJuice haunted house Airbnb experience is Delia Deetz, a fictional character from the famous movie Beetlejuice BeetleJuice, the stepmother of Lydia Deetz and the wife of Charles Deetz. The character was played by Catherine O’Hara in both of the films; she will be playing as Delia for this haunted house experience.
The reproduction of the haunted house experience is very detailed; it could be mistaken for the film set of the movie. On the outside of the haunted house it has an architectural style described as being a combination of small town Americana and Victorian gothic. According to Airbnb, the house will be covered by a mourning veil for Delia’s beloved husband and memories, along with ghosts, Delia’s artwork, and a portal into the afterlife. On the other hand, inside the house, guests won’t only find abstract sculptures of the characters, but multiple assets and scenes from the BeetleJuice Beetlejuice 1988 movie.
Delia stated, “Now that my work is posthumously appreciating in value and recognition, it’s only fair that artistic souls be invited to my magnificent home. So come admire my life’s work and create with a capital “C” in the first-ever art class from beyond the grave. Just watch out for that pesky trickster in the attic!”
