On May 25th and 26th, 2024, there was a Georgian culture day for all the Georgian people all over the world. This event was hosted in Philadelphia and Manhattan. At these events, there were Georgian singers, dancers, and other performances. There were hundreds of Georgians from all around the world gathering together and being noticed by others.
The first event was hosted in Downtown Philadelphia on May 25th, where a Georgian dance team from Manville named Khangsteli, and many others from across the country, performed. The second event took place in Manhattan, New York, and was the biggest event of them all. There were a lot of people, including the mayor of New York. There were even many famous priests from Georgia attending this event, which is a huge deal to the Georgian community because Christianity is one of the biggest things there.
This an important event, marking history for it being the first time Georgians get their own day here in the U.S. New Jersey and New York are also the two states with the highest Georgian population, so there were hundreds of thousands of people at both of these events, and others were encouraged to attend these events to see Georgian traditions, culture and much more.
