Many people around the U.S. watched the eclipse that happened on Apr 8, 2024 from 2pm to 5pm. Many kids, adults and teenagers have never seen one before, and they were amazed by the eclipse. Ian Rodriguez, a fellow Manville High School student, said that “[i]t was interesting, never seen one like it, it was my first time.”
Others said it was a beautiful thing to see. Mr. Dressel, Manville High School English teacher, said that “[i]t was cool… something you have to appreciate because it may not happen again,” and who knows; it may never happen again. In total, the U.S. has had two eclipses, one in 2017 and one in 2024. Things like these have to be appreciated because it is one of a kind, so many people don’t get to see.
Just as many people appreciated it, many people were scared, thinking the world was going to end. Before the Eclipse, an Earthquake of magnitude 4.8 happened in New Jersey, which has never happened and is one of the many reasons people were scared. They thought this was a sign that the world was going to end. We have seen that science has been wrong many times over the years all we can hope for is for us to have a tomorrow. Luckily for us, the Eclipse was a thing of beauty rather than disaster.
