The iPhone will bring new features and also some changes, such as size.
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are rumored to have an increase in size that will be 6.3 and 6.9 inches, respectively, while the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus maintain the same sizes of 6.1 and 6.7 inches of the last generations of iPhone. Another change will be the implementation of the new A18 chip for the iPhone 16 Pro. Currently the iPhone 15 uses the A16 chip, and the iPhone 15 Pro uses the A17 Pro chip.
Other changes that we will see in the iPhone 16 will be its cameras, which will have a new vertical design, a departure from the diagonal design seen on the iPhone 14 and 15. Although this looks quite similar to the previous iPhones, the newer look will help implement the new spatial video recording feature on basic iPhone models. Another change that the iPhone 16 will have will be a new button located below the power button on the right side; its function is rumored to be to launch the camera and quickly take photos.
Regarding the colors of the iPhone 16, the current titanium blue will change to a new gold color, and the titanium black will be called “space black.” it is rumored that it will come in grey, pink and white. The iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature larger batteries than previous iPhones, although the iPhone 16 plus is rumored to have to face a reduction in terms of battery capacity – this is to encourage people to opt for the premium features and pricing of their top-tier model. For the iPhone 16 Pro Max there will be an improvement with an even longer battery life of more than 30 hours compared to 29 hours for the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Other things coming to iPhone 16 will be generative AI, some of which are included with iOS 18, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a larger sensor, going from a 1/3.6-inch sensor to a 1/2.6-inch one. For the iPhone 16 Pro Max, customers will receive a 48MP main camera based on Sony’s newest imx903 sensor with a combination of 1 piece of glass lens and 7 pieces of plastic for better performance.
The new iPhones are expected to launch this fall.
