On April 8th, 2024, we had a total solar eclipse for the first time since 2017. The
eclipse could be seen from Mexico all the way to Maine, stretching the whole entire U.S. all the
way from Central America to North America. The solar eclipse is so special because of the
amount of large cities it will pass through, being one of the most watched solar eclipse events to
happen. The eclipse started at 11:07 am.
The path of totality means that the eclipse measured more than 100 miles wide and extend
across the continent. Along the path, the moon willfully obscured the sun, causing afternoon skies
to darken for a few minutes. Many spectating this event, having to use special glasses
for the damage that could be caused if not protected with these special glasses. The total solar
eclipse lasted 4 minutes and 28 seconds. Did you watch the total eclipse?
