Olivia Rodrigo, a famous American singer-songwriter and actress, wanted to help with her promise to expand access and awareness about reproductive health care. So, she invited the Missouri Abortion Fund, a financial assistance for Missouri residents who can’t afford the full cost of abortion care, to give fans free emergency condoms, information about abortion, and contraceptives while on her “Guts” World Tour in Missouri.
The free emergency contraception, condoms, and stickers, along with resources on accessing abortion care, were available inside the St.Louis venue, where Olivia performed, for concert-goers to take.
The contraceptives were being provided by Right By You, a local organization that helps young people access reproductive care. The Missouri Abortion Fund partnered up with them to sell the products to the fans, according to a video they posted on their Instagram page showing a table they set up with various products they gave out. Olivia explains that this fund was to be directed towards helping support community-based nonprofits championing girl’s education, reproductive rights, and preventing gender-based violence. The efforts to help provide reproductive resources throughout the course of Olivia’s tour is a part of Fund 4 Good, a “global initiative committed to building an equitable and just world for all women, girls, and people seeking reproductive health freedom.”
A portion of the proceeds from all “Guts” tour tickets will help benefit Fund 4 Good, which was a LiveNation news release announced in September. On Tuesday, Olivia shared on her Instagram story that a portion of the proceeds from her St. Louis concert will be benefiting both organizations. Then, on Wednesday, Olivia announced on her Instagram story that a portion of the ticket sales from the day’s concert in Omaha will benefit the Nebraska Abortion Resource organization and Iowa Abortion Access Fund as being a part of the online initiative.
