On February 17th, 2024, a Georgian UFC fighter named Ilia Toporia had an UFC match with Australian
UFC fighter Alexander Volkanovski, a five year UFC champion, in Tampa, Florida. Topuria ruthlessly dominated the cage, ending the match with a brutal knockout in the second round. Hundreds of thousands watched the fight, some at the match itself, others from abroad. There were many celebrities, such as Mark Zuckerberg, and many other well known people. Overall, it was truly a fight to be remembered for many years to come.

Topuria was born in Halle Westfalen, Germany, to Georgian parents. At the age of seven, Topuria moved back to Georgia with his family and started practicing Greco-Roman Wrestling at a local school. At the age of 15, he again relocated to live in Alicante in Spain, where he started practicing martial arts at the Climent Club. When Topuria returned to Spain after his great victory, he was given V.I.P. seats at a Real Madrid game and got to play with some of the other players. Aston Martin also had to thank him, so they gave him their newest Aston Martin DB12.

Ilia had one of his best fights in his career and became the first Georgian UFC champion.
