Manville High School announced Valentina Barrios as January’s Athlete of the Month!
Valentina received this award for her excellent skills throughout the basketball season. When asked how she felt about being chosen for athlete of the month, Valentina said she is extremely blessed and feels this is a great opportunity for herself. Some of her favorite memories throughout the basketball season are “[g]etting MVP for two years in a row. As well as playing for my team as they are definitely a second family to me. I love all my teammates and coaches and feel blessed to be a part of a great team and to keep making memories!” In addition to playing for the girls basketball team, Valentina is also on the softball and soccer teams. Making new friends and having great staff members are Valentina’s favorite memories at Manville High School.
After Valentina graduates this year, she plans on going to a 4-year college to continue her basketball career while also studying criminal justice in the fall to later become a police officer. Some interesting facts about Valentina are that she loves seafood, works at Shoprite, and is a three sport athlete. Valentina is forever grateful and blessed to have such a great, small community where everything is local. She loves how everyone knows each other and how we have great athletics at Manville High School. She is also grateful for the countless minutes and hours that her coaches have put into her the past four years, as she will continue to pursue her dream career. Valentina would like to thank her coaches and staff members for choosing her as athlete of the month for January.
Congratulations to Valentina Barrios for being chosen for January’s Athlete of the month!
