On Wednesday, January 10, one of the semifinals of the Spanish Super
Cup took place in Saudi Arabia at the Al-Awwal Stadium. Real Madrid was
the one who took the victory, with a score of 5 to 3, but Atletico’s team did
not let it go so easily, which took the game to extra time.

The first goal was in favor of Atlético de Madrid in the 6th minute by Mario
Hermoso, and then they came one by one in the 20th minute. Antoni Rudiger, a
Real Madrid player, was the protagonist of the goal. In the 29th minute,
Ferland Mendy, a Real Madrid player, put the score at 2-1, but the tie
returned with a goal from Antoine Griiesmann in the 37th minute. The first
half ended at 2 to 2 in the second half.
Real Madrid’s goalkeeper made a mistake, and it ended in an own goal in
the 80th minute, after several rejections by Atlético team’s Dani Carvajal,

In extra time, in the 116th minute, an error by Stefan Savic, an Atletico
player, allowed Real Madrid to take the lead with a goal in the 122nd minute, with a
clearance by Joselu. Next, Brahim Diaz scored, putting the score 5 to 3 in favor
of Real Madrid, concluding the match.
