Manville High School’s football team has played the same teams for many years now, as
their division is small, but this small town has heart, and they show that in every game; especially on
September 14th against Dayton. Manville has always been a town of people that worked hard,
and that is shown in our school’s football team year after year. On and off the field, the players are
hard working, good people. Once they are in the game, they play well and disciplined, and this was
especially displayed on the 14th. Manville came out strong, but they didn’t burn out- they played
hard all throughout the game. 41-7 for Manville was the final score.

Dayton didn’t stand a chance at any point because they simply couldn’t handle Manvilles
pressure. This was definitely an impressive performance from Manville, if they keep playing at
the level they are who knows how well they could do this season. If this young team is ready
they could be an amazing football team. What many also fail to realize is that the coaching staff
of Manville is experienced, smart and very good. The coaching staff has been through years of
coaching and knows that the offense they run is what will set the edge. As long as the team
continues to execute, the team will do well.
It is very impressive to be that young and play at a high level on a varsity team. The average age
of the Manville player right now is between 16 and 15. Josh Ambrosio, Isaiah Bennet, Evan Cannaca,
and more are only sophomores, yet play very well. Criticism from people is that the team is
young and inexperienced, so they can’t win. A mistake that will prove to be common this season
for teams that play Manville is underestimating them. Manville is a young, rising team that teams
in the division may not be ready for. If a young football team can execute their gameplan
effectively then their future is very bright. This is because once the team is older it will not only
be good but great once they fully develop. Their playbook isn’t at its full potential yet either.
They are only running a limited amount of plays right now but it’s working. This is because their
run game is strong; they run the ball about 75 to 80% of the time. Their most consistently ran
play is a run play. It is a very effective play against opposing teams. Not only is their offense

to watch a team grow not only through the season but through a game. You could tell through the

were overjoyed as they knew themselves that they were playing at their very best.

But, more than this they were playing well and having fun, that’s the name of the game when
playing football. If you’re playing and you love it, that will only make you and your team better.
That was clear because the way they played, football is a team sport and it takes all 11 players. If
you go on the field and all 11 don’t play their hardest and do their job it is very difficult to win.
The win felt good for the community and the team. The community supports the team greatly
and they appreciate it. 2-2 is the current record but the rest of the season is looking bright. Since
the Manville team is motivated and has the will to play, they have a chance to be great.
