the case when Manville arrived at the game like they never did before. This looked like
a whole new Manville team. This doesn’t change the fact that South Hunterdon was still
an undefeated team in the division, so what happened Tuesday night?

The Manville soccer team came out strong, having high pressure on the other team’s
half, and even getting the first goal of the game. Ian Rodriguez, number 11, dribbled past
2 South defenders and slotted the ball bottom right corner of the goal. The next goal
came 15 minutes later from the other team’s striker, number 7, passing the Manville
keeper and tapping it in, slotting it into the near post, tying the game 1-1 going into the
second half.
The second half started strong with Manville having most position when they
won a penalty. Antonio Riga went up to the penalty missing, hitting it down the middle
against the south keeper. In the second half, in the 28th minute, Ian Rodriguez scored
another one from outside the box, with the coach describing this goal as a “banger” and giving
Manville back the lead, bringing the score too 2-1. South took their time, but came back
in the fourth minute with a sloppy goal from number 10 in south hunterdon, and this was
a small problem for what happened next. The two teams went into overtime and South
Hunterdon won the game in the fifth minute of over time, sending the Manville boys
home disappointed and heads down.
