Blizzard Entertainment is under fire after the huge downfall of their newer game, Overwatch 2.
The reasoning for its downfall all comes down to the greed of the company. To explain, Blizzard
Entertainment decided to add a battle pass to Overwatch 2, making it more pay-to-win and unfair for
players that don’t spend money on the game. Simply, it is a lot harder to beat other people if you don’t
spend money on the game. Players who spend money will always have an advantage over the players
who don’t spend money.

Another reason why people hate Overwatch 2 is because it was an exact replica of the original
Overwatch. People are saying that everything that was added in Overwatch 2 should have just been an
update to the original Overwatch. Many bugs in the original Overwatch were in Overwatch 2, showing that
nothing really changed and that they just copied the code, added some new things, and called it a day.
The only major things that changed was that Overwatch 2 is free while Overwatch isn’t and in Overwatch
2, you need to pay to get characters while characters in Overwatch are unlocked when released.
An additional reason why Overwatch 2 is hated is because people want more updates that fix
bugs or make the game better. When Overwatch 2 released, it had the same bugs as Overwatch so
people were mad and annoyed that Blizzard Entertainment couldn’t just fix the bugs and instead just
copied the whole code from the first game. Because of this, people wanted updates to fix the game and
make it more enjoyable. A big problem with the game that isn’t a bug is that the game’s balancing is
unfair. Players that have been playing for years get matched up with new players that have never played
the game before, which has people mad because that is usually why people lose.
To add fuel to the flame, Overwatch 2 is also hated because of the format change. The first
Overwatch used to be a 6v6 format as in 6 people versus 6 people. Now, Overwatch 2 is fully focused on
a 5v5 format as in 5 people versus 5 people. You can still play a 6v6 match but only in custom matches
meaning you do not get as many rewards, like exp (gained to level up) and it also has a limit to how much
you can get. This is because players would afk farm the custom matches to get exp while not playing the
game. To put it in more simple terms, afk farming or afk grinding is you not playing the game but it is still
going on by some sort of input by another device or application, so you can sleep or do something else
without having to play the game. An example of afk farming is having a game run with an autoclicker
(application that clicks for you) so the game never closes so you can go to sleep, run some errands, eat,
etc.
However, Overwatch 2 isn’t too bad. After all, it is still Overwatch and it is nearly the same as the
first one so it doesn’t lose as much of its essence. They kept a decent amount of things from the first
Overwatch so it is very similar to the first Overwatch. But still, There are way too many cons and not
enough pros to support Overwatch 2. The game is just a copy of the first with very little updates, almost
no fixed bugs in the game, and overall bad playing experience, by either the bugs in the game, the
balancing, or both.
Overwatch 2 is very hated and for very good reasons. When it comes to Blizzard Entertainment’s
greed, the same bugs, unfair balancing, or the main gamemode changing from 6v6 to 5v5, it all comes to
show that there are a lot of flaws in the game. If Blizzard Entertainment was more focused on letting
players have fun rather than ruining the game experience in several ways and added more and better
updates, the game could have been very big and respected a lot more than it is right now. To summarize,
the huge downfall of the new game Overwatch 2 has caused Blizzard Entertainment to go under fire.
