Manville Defeats Koinonia Academy in Style
March 4, 2021
Manville won a hard fought game against Koinonia Academy, a team that the Mustangs had had success defeating in previous years. Steve Purcell, Jon Cox, Shawn Purcell, David Faybian, and Jason Brennan pull through on a hard fought victory. The Mustangs brought their record from 3-4 to 4-4 making their season even. This win was very much needed to make up for the Mustangs 4 game loss.
In the first quarter alone, the Mustangs scored seventeen points making the score 17-8. By halftime the Mustangs managed to put a total of thirty-seven points on the board, making the score 37-25. At the end of the third, the points started to add up. The score was 56-36. With 7:28 left on the board Manville up 50-36, David Fabyian makes a game sealing play, he steals the ball from Konionia and dunks it with two hands on the other end of the court; his first in-game dunk. The final score of the game was 71-52, the Mustangs pulling through with a huge win against Koinonia Academy.
Thursday, March 4, the Mustangs look to face Somerville, a semi-final game that will determine whether they are good enough to make it to the championships!
