The highly competitive and successful Forensics Speech and Debate Team has conquered yet another tournament. This past Saturday, February 22, 2020, the MHS Forensics team competed in a tournament in Montville, NJ.

Yiraldo Campos took home  first place in POI, program oral interpretation, which was his consecutive first place in a row. At the previous tournament, Campos was awarded first place at Ridge, which is the biggest competition the team partakes in.

Campos was not the only member making strides at the tournament in Montville; the novice debate team members of Marissa Morris and Amelia Szewczyk placed 4th. Zach Pizzoli placed 6th in Extemp speech, and Chloe Gosk placed 4th in declamation.

Adding to the team’s success, Conor Johnston placed 4th in districts, meaning he is the second alternate to go to Nationals which will be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Manville’s Forensics Team has never had a member go to Nationals so this potential opportunity has the team jittering.

This Saturday,  February 29, 2020, select Forensics speech team will be competing in a tournament in Bridgewater-Raritan. Leap on over to Bridgewater- Raritan High School to support the MHS Forensics Speech and Debate Team!
