E-Cigarettes Ban in the US

People use E-cigarettes to help them quit smoking, however more people use them to improve their social image. Apparently the ban of E-cigarettes in the United States is rising. Now there are 28 states that have E-cigarettes banned today, including New York. 

 Vaping has been around for 12 years now. In the article, New York bans sales of flavored E-cigarettes after seventh deaths worldwide, “Nationwide, health officials are investigating hundreds of cases of serious breathing illnesses in people who use e-cigarettes and other vaping devices. They have identified 380 confirmed and probable cases in 36 states and one territory, including six deaths. President Trump has proposed a federal ban on flavored e-cigarettes and vaping products.” New York becomes the first state to pass the ban. 

Symptoms of mysterious vaping illnesses are coughing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, wheezing, extreme fatigue or fever. Around 7 people have died from the use of juuls, which is a popular vaping device.  According to recent studies, vaping can evolve a person’s lungs into 70 year old lungs; it can cause severe lung damage. 

Seniors in high school seem to be using juul pods more frequently. In the article, 1 in 9 high school seniors vape nicotine near daily, new survey says amid e-cigarette scare, it says, “An annual government founded survey that found a continued rise in teen use of e-cigarette and growing concern that products marked as a more healthful alternative for tobacco smokers are getting young people hooked.”  Flavored E-cigarettes are used to stop smoking real cigarettes, but younger people use it because they may enjoy the taste or for social standards.

Nicotine is known to be in cigarettes and juuls. Nicotine is known as an addictive substance and a very harmful one. To quit juuls is like quitting nicotine, so it takes more than one try to officially quit smoking a juul. Many people succeeded in quitting juul by setting their date, seeking support, and knowing the challenges. Many young people may face this obstacle due to the growing popularity of juuls or other E-cigarette devices.
