Manville opened up the game by immediately scoring off of John Sharbaugh’s (#4) rushing TD, followed by a field goal by Bryan Rojas (#9). The Manville student section went wild given the rivalry between the two storied teams.

 Bound Brook answered by scoring a TD followed by another field goal. Both Bound Brook and Manville would go on to score before the end of the first quarter tying it 14-14. Bound Brook would then go on to score 6 unanswered points in the 2nd quarter gaining the lead 20-14 by halftime.

Jon Cox (#1) would score 2 touchdowns in the 3rd quarter along with Bryan Rojas’ 2 field goals; allowing the Mustangs to gain the lead 28-26.

Tensions began to rise in the Manville student section as the Mustangs were holding onto a slim lead. Bound Brook was able to score in the final minutes to sneak past Manville 34-28.

The Mustangs suffered a heartbreaker, but showed major improvement from last year’s 42-0 shutout by Bound Brook.
