Angelina Sanchez has been recognized as February’s Athlete of the Month. She communicated, “I was surprised, and I did not expect to get the Athlete of the Month, because there are so many great athletes at MHS.”
Sanchez’s dedication does not go unnoticed. She puts a tremendous amount of time and energy towards basketball and every sport she is involved with at Manville. “I do as much as possible to do my best and make sure the team is doing their best.”
The recipient of Athlete of the Month for February is not only involved with basketball; she has lettered in basketball for three years. Angelina has also lettered in soccer and cheerleading as well. Additionally, she is the c0-vice president of her class and is an active member of the National Honor Society and Student Council.
With all her involvement, her favorite memory is, “Although we lost, last year’s state game was a game I will never forget, we played so well as a team and everyone did their part. I loved playing with my team and going into triple overtime was just unforgettable.”
For Angelina’s future, she plans to attend a 4-year university after high school and to earn a degree in special education and psychology, or nursing.
“I am honored to receive this award and I look forward to seeing what my future in sports leads me to.”
